On September 8th of this year, 53 riders got together to both support Victoria Hospice and to remember one of our own. This was the 8th Annual Ambriss Clermont Memorial Ride for Hospice. At times was a bit windy and a bit chilly but all were in good spirits. It was one of those days where it didn’t matter what jersey we were wearing - we were all one, strong community
Special thanks to members of Triple Shot Cycling for volunteering their time as ride guides and big thanks to. Lorna Shaw who again donated her time and photography talents. Check out all the pictures here.
We left our donation page open a bit longer this year and yesterday we handed over a BIG cheque to hospice - $18, 876! The brings our 8 year total to over $132,000 for a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.
We are now accepting donations of used bikes in good condition. Bring these bikes into either of our Sidney or Victoria locations and our mechanics will lovingly make sure that these are ready to bring the joy of cycling to children in need this holiday season.
We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Jordie Lunn's tragic accident and passing. He died doing what he loved. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Bonnie, Brian, Craig, Jarrett, and to the scores of people who knew and loved Jordie Lunn. #longlivejordie
We are very lucky to have one of the very best CX series in Canada right here on Vancouver Island. Cross on the Rock was started 14 years ago by Wendy Simms and Norm Thibault and a group calling themselves the Council of Cross. The first race had something like 10 participants. The Series exploded in popularity - probably because of it’s grassroots nature, accessibility and the fact it is so fun - and now most weekends from September through November there are hundreds of cyclists of all abilities and ages getting super muddy with big grins on their faces.
